Golf is a Universal Game with a Universal Language!
The Language Room in Linlithgow brought these French speaking youngsters to Kingsfield Golf Centre recently as part of their language course in the Royal Burgh. The aim has been for 3 years to encourage more people from other countries to visit Linlithgow and West Lothian and stay in the area and socialise locally with Stuart Milne, owner of the Language Room was very impressed with the Golf Lesson given by Kingsfield's Kevin Craggs. Speaking in excellent 'Golf orientated French' Kevin enthralled the girls with his wit, style and expertise. The girls gained basic skills and exercises that they then practiced in the golf bays - until they were exhausted with their swings!
During their trip to West Lothian, the youngsters have only spent one day outside the area, finding plenty to do within the Royal Burgh and County on their short break. Kingsfield Golf Centre was happy to entertain the Foreign Language Students and look forward to this visit being the first of many more from the Language Room in Linlithgow High Street.
The tourism and sports links between The Language Room and Kingsfield was especially pleasing as Elodie Milne and Ronnie Bamberry were among the original people 3 years ago, with foresight to promote this type of project with local business working together under the Pride and Passion!
